Nancy Stedman

Nancy Stedman has been growing perennials, herbs, and vegetables for over 25 years. Originally, she started gardening indoors with houseplants and has maintained over 100 for several years and teaches adult education classes on caring for them. Nancy and her husband decided to move to a rural setting after her gardening hobby took on a life of its own to became a thriving business.

With a little help, she organically grows over 7,000 annuals and perennials for cutting every year. People call her the flower lady. She describes herself as "a gardener out of control". She always likes to try new and improved varieties of flowers and expands her business every year.

Nancy has been a master gardener for over fourteen years through the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and has been inducted into the Master Gardener hall of fame. She has been featured in Downeast and People, Places, and Plants magazines, and seen on Channel 13 and 207 TV shows. She teaches adult education classes at Gorham and Bonny Eagle High Schools.

She lives in Buxton with her husband Bruce, Maine coon cat Kitty BoBo, her faithful canines Moose and Maggie, a large flock of chickens on their 110 acre organic farm.
